In Response To: Somebody's On The Ball! Right On! (Steve Martin)

I'd like you to meet the Founder of this board. The man who allowed me to think. And in so doing, find hope that fathers not be "visitors" in their children's lives. That the injustices be routed out to honour the love of all the children, regardless of their parent's divorce.

But the ancient pillars of Babylon stand firm. The fight scrabbles on the steps. Swords drawn and dogs whipped. Sometimes empty & forlorn. Or a buzz with meaningful discussion, wheels moving. Ruts or cracks, legions against us. The desert without oasis. Sun blind eyes, we stumble on.

Someone once said, "Don't stop 5 min. before the miracle." (At the moment, it's merely a mirage.) If the dust comes up, we can hunker down together. Keep on Truckin'.

This really is an inspiring Board, and I've been enjoying the discussion.

Another way of looking at it is that I'm a professional, working in my field for over 20 yr. (earning slightly less than nat'l av.) and have an actual take home pay of $2.17/hr. Counting our recent cut back to 30 hr./wk.!

Just as the YOF act criminalized all children, the Guideline tax grab ripple effect is crippling their only support. We are witnessing the demise of the nuclear family, and each already been through it. If ever there were pragmatists to be heard - it is among us.

BTW That $320 I sprung for an old 386, rather than yet another lawyer's consult Turned out to be some of the best money I ever spent to assist me in my case.

A lot of tears shed over this keyboard, thoughts and feelings, overwhelming absurdity and shocking laughter. Finding the strength to pick up the gauntlet once again, to feint to fail or glory. Back to drink of the pool, to rant aloud or silently reflect. Thankyou.
