See p. 6: "..social scientists have been "remarkably unsuccessful" in understanding why so many men have either removed themselves or allowed themselves to be excluded from their children's lives, despite the adverse effects which such absence has on child development".

The writers have obviously never heard about judges and malicious mothers.

The Child Support Team at the Department of Justice recently released results based on similar "research". I contacted Carolina Gilberti, have not heard from her yet.

It may be too late to stop this harebrained research project as the paper was written in 1998. It is not too late to let the researchers know what's wrong with their approach.
