Report or else!

John Baird (Minister of ComSoc) wants to see what it is like to hose the public! So, he has set up CAS with new powers to charge and fine anyone who fails to report "suspected" child abuse. Starting today I believe!

It could be physical or emotional abuse that we John Q. Public's are supposed to report to CAS. "Physical" I can stomach - when an adult whaps a child I would love to return the favour to the adult before they knew what hit them. Failing that, being able to report it would be fine by me if telltale marks etc. were left behind on the child. That should also apply to CAS staff who fail in their duties to protect the child, as we witnessed last year in a string of screw-ups where kids died as a result of CAS bunglings. Those clown should be fired without pay (a new concept eh!).

However, "emotional" abuse is a totally different ball game. That could mean ANYTHING! Looking at junior the wrong way. Raising ones voice to get the point across. Grounding junior for burning down the school. Lecturing junior about the naughtiness of knifing the teacher for a poor mark. Not saying OK to any demand made by the snivelling kid who thinks he/she is hard done by simply because mom & dad can't afford a Sony playstation today.

In fact, this "emotional abuse" thing could be a powerful weapon for the disgruntled neighbour or nasty ex spouse who has an ax to grind. The ex-ax! One fell swoop will destroy you forever.

What is the fine for failing to report a "suspected" abusive situation, you ask?

$1000.00. A G note.

I wanna throw up all over John Baird's desk.

Below is his smiling mug. Print it out and paste it onto your dartboard - your game will improve tremendously.
