I fail to see what is so different about his case as compared to the situation in Canada.
All the same incidents happen, or are capable of being created. Legal aid reacts identically. Shelters act and operate within a world of their own. Police cannot act upon anything dad has a right to - but can arrest on the sole word of the ex wife claiming assault or abuse etc. Visitation is routinely denied upon the whim of mom. Children often wind up with emotional scars after the dust settles. Finally, lawyers get rich over the fabricated misery of those caught up in the family court nightmare.
